‘I have been in the PTSD group at CFBC since it started. I feel it has really helped me come to terms with some of the things that has bothered me for some time. It has also allowed me to have a more peaceful family life. I have really lost some time with my family and now I can get some of it back.
I want to return some of what I have received. I am a SCUBA instructor and run my own shop. I would like to offer any VET in the NW Houston area that is going through the program the ability to learn SCUBA if they are so interested. Normally this class is anywhere from $350-750.00 per student. I would like to teach these VETS for $50.00, which only covers the cost of the books and certification card.’

The Lotus flower is planted in mud and yet still grows upwards toward the light to break through the other side clean and beautiful. Our female veterans are growing stronger physically through combat, yet are stuck in the mud of sexual trauma, separation anxiety from their children, PTSD, and Homelessness. The mission of The Lotus Project is to empower female veterans to rebuild their lives after military service.
Need to know where the available beds are for homeless female veterans with or without children.

We are a group of dedicated Texans who have formed a recognized 501(c)(3) Texas tax-exempt/non-profit public charity, (Federal EIN 56-2656711), Operation Military Embrace, Inc., (OME) to assist our injured military, their families, and those military personnel accused of battlefield crimes in their time of need. Dog Tags ® is a Puppies Behind Bars® initiative, launched in 2006, which honors and assists wounded OIF/OEF veterans. By pairing you with a specially trained Labrador or golden retriever service dog, we can help you cope with the challenges of everyday life. Our dogs, raised in prison, are trained to perform over 80 service dog commands. Since we specialize in dogs for veterans with PTSD and TBI, we also teach our dogs special commands for wounded warriors with these conditions. All our dogs can open and close doors, turn lights on and off, dial 911 on a phone, carry shopping bags, do laundry, and bring items to you. In addition, we teach them how to find your car in a crowded parking lot; how to look both ways before you enter a room; how to “watch my and how to stop people approaching, if their approach is making you nervous.
